World of Hobbies

Hobby is such a pleasurable activity which people often do in their free time. I mean there are some reasons for doing this activity. Some people are keen to do for their interest or enjoyment some people accepted hobby as their profession. There are innumerous or endless hobbies in this world. I would like to introduce some of them.

1. Philately

It is a very popular kind of hobby. The term Philately means collection of various stamps. The Rowland Hill of England is considered as father of Philately. In 1840 Great Britain issued world’s first postal stamp, but after couple of years it was used by private postal service in New York. However in India printed its first stamp in 1852

2. Numismatics

The art of collecting and studying coins, currency and medals is known as Numismatics. a person who collects this is known as Numismatist. This term are derived from the Latin word 'numisma ' which means ‘money’. This hobby is used before 2000 years by ancient Greeks and Romans.

3. Telephone Card Collection

Since last decade this hobby is fastest growing hobby in this world. It is thought that there are five million phone card collections in this world today. Many countries accepted as a part of Philately.

4. Gardening

Its a leisure time activity. In this hobby people cultivate s fruits, flowers, vegetables in their garden. It gives good flowers, vegetables, fruits but it requires efforts without which this is not possible.

5. Angling

Angling is the art of fishing with hook and line and usually a rod. Now a days sports fishing can be divided into two types i.e. fresh water fishing and hard water fishing.

6. Aquarium Keeping

Now a day it is very popular hobby. People are fond of keeping various varieties of fish in their living room, drawing room or bed room. They feed them, watch their growth and have a relaxation in their company.

7. Bird Watching

This is a very interesting hobby, in this hobby people observing bird in their natural habit. Today there are more than 9000 species of birds found in different regions of world like desert, arid, semi arid, tropical , polar regions etc. it just need to have good binoculars , a field guide to help in identifying birds and notebook for recording place of sighting

so, this is all about different kind of hobby its depend on person's mood, interest , life style surroundings etc.
